It’s hard to believe the school holidays are upon us again, but if you’re looking for something new to do with the kids, then Downunder Drive in Palmview is the place for you this Easter break!
Home to Aussie World and our iconic Banana Bender Pub, Downunder Drive is welcoming a brand new experience that is entirely supporting local Sunshine Coast businesses. Artisun will open on Friday 1 April, just in time for the Easter school holidays and will showcase handcrafted locally sourced products and creative workshops.
The unique retail and creative workshop space has been created by Timevale Pty Ltd, the owner of Aussie World and The Banana Bender Pub. The creative space will feature thousands of hand-crafted, locally sourced products including pottery, paintings, homewares, clothing, jewellery, honey, gin, doggy treats, and much more.
The workshops will create a unique opportunity for you to tap into your creative side while learning how Sunshine Coast products and produce are created.
Artisun is the ideal place for inspiring Sunshine Coast artists and producers who can come together and share their skills and innovation with each other, and the public.
There’s no better time than now to support our local businesses who are at the heart of our region.
Throughout the Easter holidays, we will continue our annual tradition of Easter shows, roving entertainment and of course, a visit from the Easter Bunny. The kids will love the easter egg hunts and giveaways, while getting the chance to experience thrilling rides, no matter what their age.
Toddlers will love the Tiny Tots area including the Bombora Bounce mini drop tower, a beautifully restored carousel and the colourful Little Beaut Toot Toot train ride, to name a few. The older kids looking for more thrills have plenty to choose from including the newest thrill ride – SX360!
The Banana Bender Pub will be open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner during the holidays and we’ve created something fun for both the adults and the kids.
If you’ve been to the pub recently, you’ll know there is always something happening at our iconic venue. Each night is filled with entertainment including live music, pool competitions, trivia and karaoke.
Sunday is family fun day with live music keeping the crowd entertained from 2pm to 5pm. Free pool is available in the Den all day and there are free popcorn buckets for the kids.
Dig into delectable Easter themed cocktails and dessert, including the Boozy Bunny and the Eggcellent Surprise (pictured), made up of an array of sweets. The perfect end to a meal at Mangos Bar and Grill.
We pride ourselves on showcasing local produce with seafood delivered fresh from Mooloolaba, salad leaves and herbs from Palmview, meat from Mooloolah and fruits and vegetables from a variety of artisan local farms.
It’s all about locals on the Sunshine Coast’s Downunder Drive these school holidays. We look forward to welcoming you to Our Kind of Fun.
